If you want to be successful – You must have this book.

WOW! I sure wish that I had this book when I first started my career as a Ballroom Dance Professional. I will never forget the time I spent scouring the Internet for any sort of information that could help me become more successful - but to no avail. Up until now, this sort of information has not been available.

Diane truly is the “teacher of teachers.” Her dedication to quality dance instruction and to the success of dance teachers and studios around the world is unparalleled. In this book, Diane generously divulges everything that she knows about being a success in the Ballroom Dance Business.

“Teach Like A Pro” is so broad in scope and rich in information, it is almost like having several books in one; From Choreography, to proper Dance Technique, to demystifying key elements such as Good Posture, Partnering, Movement and Dance Frames, to actually walking you through how to create value for your students and how to sell the lessons. This book is an invaluable resource for anyone serious in pursuing a career in Ballroom, Latin and Swing Dance Instruction.

In my opinion, you have two options. 1) Work as a professional Ballroom Dancer for 15-20 years under the direction of Diane or, 2) Buy this book! Teach Like A Pro is the new Bible for Ballroom Dancers! (I hope this doesn’t offend anyone.)

Teach Like a Pro (TLP) is the only book I have ever found that provides a comprehensive, detailed look at the “art” of teaching ballroom from a teacher’s perspective. I have utilized many of the methods in TLP to bring my students’ dancing to a higher level—not to mention bring my own dance instruction to a higher level! I have several favorite chapters, including the one on competitions. While I have attended many competitions over the years as a spectator, I did not fully understand the labyrinth of categories and protocols that comprise that world. After reading TLP’s concise summary of competitions, they felt so much more approachable that I am now planning to join the competitive world.

In summary, this book has transformed my lesson approach, delighted my students, and made me rethink my business. If you are interested in being a successful ballroom dance teacher or studio owner, you must read this book.

I am getting so much out of your book—little details, good advice, helpful definitions, concise ways to explain technique, new ideas and an expanded vision. Thank you for gathering this wealth of information into one well-organized, clearly written book that can be read again and again.

This is the most thorough and precise ballroom dance book I have ever read. I have been teaching ballroom dancing for over 25 years and thought I knew everything—I was wrong. I wish this book had been around when I first started teaching. It would have saved me a whole lot of time and money. This book is an absolute must whether you are just starting out in the dance business or have been teaching for many years like myself.

I love that you are providing this material to DanceSport teachers. It is important for all teachers to understand how the body works and then how to help our students become more proficient movers. Thank you.

I thoroughly enjoyed the course and highly recommend it, Diane and Kasia did an excellent job of presenting a huge amount of information and making it easy and fun to practice and implement into our daily routines as both dancers and teachers.
